Update.. Term 2 2022

 How's it goin? Update.. Term 2 2022

Term 1 was such a hard term. With Covid19 still around in the community attendance was hard for students. Room 3 even had a close contact in the class and had to sent home for 7 days.
It was an experience as I visited my students and families dropping off learning packs and 'Home Learning' was activated.

Before all of this was happened, I fell ill with shingles so, i missed the first 3 weeks of school and then my class was sent home due to the above situation.

It was hard for students and families to come back. It took time and patience.

In class Manaiakalani support. Cyber Smart lesson.

It wasn't till the beginning of March students and families were beginning to return back and that the government changed the close contacts to only family household members.

Term 1 was not an easy term and I did my best. Things were changing and one was a big decision for me to leave the beautiful school Glenbrae school to work closer to home in South Auckland at Homai School

In my short time here at Glenbrae School, I was able to accomplish,

Many thanksThank you Glenbrae school and Glenbrae students, families and the community for teaching so much in such a little time. I look forward to new learning at my new school, Homai School in Manurewa where I can apply my new learning.

Term 2 starting at a new school.. Homai School in Manurewa.

Our class is Room 12. I am teaching in a year 1 class. Here are some of the students at the start of term 2. A class full of smart little learners.

Room 12 has sensory play with Whaea Angela. Room 12 love this time of exploration and creative play. We look forward coming into our school garden and working with Whaea Angela.

Room 12 acknowledging PINK day - Anti bullying. Our school wore pink.

Room 12 has special visitors every Wednesday. It is our transition visit from All About Childhood early childhood centre. We help them with different fun activities.

Room 12 ended the term with 16 students. It has been a term with many illness as Covid19 is still around. This resulted in low attended in my class.

Homai school is not a Manaiakalani school but recently signed up as Manaiakalani outreach school, so in term 3, I look forward to implementing my learning from Glenbrae into Room 12 here at Homai.

I will continue to work my professional blogging  and my class blogging.
